Equestrian WA is delighted to recognise Life Member Clayton Fredericks following the announcement of his appointment as CCI5 Course Designer for the Adelaide Equestrian Festival*, commencing with the 2027 event.
This prestigious appointment is fantastic news for Western Australia and recognises Clayton's outstanding contribution to the sport, both as an internationally accomplished athlete and now as one of the world's leading course designers.
Clayton has enjoyed an extraordinary career representing Australia on the international stage, including winning Olympic Team Silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and Individual Silver and Team Bronze at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games. Since transitioning into course design, he has continued to build an exceptional international reputation, earning appointments at some of the world's most respected eventing competitions.
The Adelaide Equestrian Festival is the only CCI5 event in the Southern Hemisphere* and is regarded as one of the world's premier eventing competitions. Clayton's appointment to design the iconic cross-country course from 2027 reflects his extensive experience, technical expertise and commitment to delivering world-class competition while prioritising horse and rider welfare.
As an Equestrian WA Life Member, Clayton has made an immeasurable contribution to equestrian sport in Western Australia, and this latest achievement is one our entire community can celebrate with pride. His appointment highlights the depth of talent within our state and serves as an inspiration for riders, officials and course designers alike.
