Events Coordinator

EWA is seeking to appoint an experienced part-time Events Coordinator.  

An important aspect of the role is to ensure the highest public perception is maintained, and drive identified key projects within the EWA Strategic Plan. 

Providing high quality, well-governed and financially responsible events is paramount.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Brainstorming and implementing event plans and concepts for allocated events
  • Handling budgeting and invoicing
  • Liaising and negotiating with vendors 
  • Negotiating and servicing sponsorship deals
  • Handling logistics
  • Coming up with suggestions to enhance the event’s success
  • Preparing budgets and ensuring adherence
  • Updating key stakeholders 
  • Managing branding and communication
  • Developing event feedback surveys
  • Obtaining permits where required
  • Handling post-event reports and review

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Communication and marketing skills
  • Project management experience
  • Good leadership skills
  • Highly refined organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Good time management
  • Proficiency in various event software (experience in Nominate would be advantageous)
  • Expert interpersonal skills
  • Risk management experience including the ability to form, adhere to and review risk management plans

Shortlisted candidates will have the following experience

  • Be able to demonstrate events management experience in large-scale events  
  • Experience in sponsorship management is essential
  • Have strong contract negotiation skills, along with excellent communication, initiative & follow-up skills essential 
  • Demonstrate superb organisation skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to oversee multiple events concurrently 
  • Demonstrate strong marketing and audience acquisition skills 
  • Must be able to maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, sponsors, vendors and can stay calm and pleasant under pressure 
  • Must have experience in multi-media marketing particularly in social media
  • Have hands-on experience in risk management and workplace health and safety compliance
  • Possess thorough financial and commercial capabilities including experience and qualifications in financial management, budget preparation and periodical reporting and analysis
  • Have highly demonstrable and well-developed conflict resolution and negotiation skills
