We are committed to creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere where:

Behaviour & Expectations

The way we behave sets the standard for our clubs. We ask all members, parents, and supporters to:

  • Show respect to riders, horses, officials, and volunteers

  • Support fair play and good sportsmanship

  • Lead by example, especially around younger members

  • Keep communication positive and constructive

EWA CULTURE &
BEHAVIOUR CAMPAIGN
This campaign highlights core values integral
to our sport, guiding members, officials,
organisers, and volunteers. We ask club and
event organisers to include our 'Values Flyer'
in programs, pack, or as posters at events,
reinforcing our sports priciples for a united
and consistent approach.

We recognise that mental health is just as important as physical health. Our clubs are encourage to:

  • Open conversations about wellbeing

  • Checking in on each other, especially during stressful times

  • Making use of resources and support networks available

  • Balancing training, competition, and rest to support overall wellbeing

Parents, families, and supporters play an important role in setting the tone of competitions and training. We ask everyone to:

  • Cheer for effort, not just results

  • Respect official's decisions

  • Encourage rather than criticise

  • Remember that equestrian sport is built on learning and enjoyment

The SportWest Sideline Behaviour Initiative is
here to make sure everyone feels safe and
comfortable playing the sport they love.
It isn't an easy topic and it will take a
commitment from us and the community to
improve sideline behaviour. 
There's no place for poor sideline
behaviour.

Sport Inclusion Australia, formerly AUSRAPID,
is a national sporting organisation established
in 1986 to assist the inclusion of people
with an intellectual impairment into the
mainstream community using sport as the
medium. Sport Inclusion Australia has worked
within the Australian sporting sector with
outstanding success and is proud of the
increasing numbers of sporting organisations
and clubs taking responsibility for inclusion
with the focus on ability and based on social
inclusion principles.
