Rising Stars February Clinic

Places for the first 2018 Rising Stars clinic at the State Equestrian Centre filled quickly with eager Rising Stars Squad riders wanting to improve their riding skills and fitness for the upcoming competition season.

The weather was hovering in the 30's for most of the weekend, so riders were relieved to be able to have their Jumping lessons under the fans in the Indoor Arena. The shade and ventilation made a huge difference.

The WA Dressage Young Riders Association Twilight Dressage competition was being held on the Saturday evening, so many riders were able to receive insight on how to improve their marks at their Squad dressage lesson in the morning, before taking part in the competition later that evening. Well done to all of the Squad riders who competed after a long day of lessons and workshops. Great results were achieved and it was great to see the smiles on everyone's faces.

The riders were put through their paces in a fitness workshop with personal trainer Kristy Holmes, who shared some exercises that they could do at home to improve their fitness and performance for the competition season.

Horse management classes also took place with riders learning valuable information that will not only benefit them as horse owners but that they can also use towards their EA coaching accreditations in the future.

EWA would like to thank Blue Cow Café for sponsoring the Rising Stars again for 2018. We are looking forward to our next squad clinic in March.
