Election of Board, Sport Committees and Coaching Committee

In accordance with the EWA Constitution, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Elections for members of the Equestrian Western Australia Incorporated Board & Committees will be held on Thursday 7th November 2019

EWA Board Nominations

Due to the annual rotation of Directors one position will be filled at the Annual Elections being held in November 2019. Following the retirement of an elected Director, one position will be filled for the remainder of the retiring director’s term.

The positions are for the following term:

1 Ordinary Director (2020 – 2022) position currently held by Mr Ron Fleming.
1 Casual vacancy for Ordinary Director one year remaining of the term (2018 - 2020) retirement of Kathy Van Eykelenborg.

Sport Committee Nomination and Coaching Committee

EWA is currently accepting nominations for the following Committees:

Dressage WA Committee

2 Elected Affiliate Representative Member positions (2020 – 2022) these two positions are currently vacant.

Following the retirement of an elected Committee Member, one position will be filled for the remainder of the retiring member’s term.

1 Casual vacancy one year remaining of the term for Elected Committee Member (2018 - 2020) retirement of Phillipa Collier.

Voting eligibility

To be eligible to vote for the EWA Board you are required to be a Competitor Senior, Participant Senior, Supporter, Official, Owner, Coach, or Adult Rider member of EWA.

To be eligible to vote for EWA Sport Committee you are required to have nominated the Sport Committee or Sport Committees at the time of membership renewal to you wish to vote for.

To vote for Sport Committee Affiliate Members you are required to be the representative of an Affiliated Member (Club).

To be eligible to vote for the EWA Coaching Committee you are required to be a Competitor Senior, Participant Senior, Supporter, Official, Owner, Coach, and Adult Rider member of EWA.

Election process

Election of Committees’ members and Board Directors’ will be by a preferential voting system, this system will rank the candidates by candidates receiving the highest number of votes to the lowest number of votes. The positions will be filled by those receiving the highest number of votes in decreasing order until all positions are filled. Where casual vacancy positions are offered the candidate receiving the highest number of votes will be elected to the full term vacancy, once full-term vacancies are filled casual vacancy positions will be filled by the candidate receiving the next highest number of votes.

Board Positions

EWA is seeking a Finance Director and a Director with experience with the responsibilities of a director, good governance principles and understanding of the requirements of the State Equestrian Centre.
