Tread with caution around the SEC as Indoor Arena upgrade works ramp up

Equestrian WA wishes to advise members and visitors to the SEC to tread with caution and be aware of your surrounding as the re-surfacing of the Indoor Arena begins.

The commencement of works, which also includes the Warm Up area, follows upgrades to the lighting within the Indoor Arena. The seating in the arena is also set to be revitalised as part of this major upgrade project to several aspects of the Indoor.

With several pieces of machinery and equipment on-site during the upgrade works over the next few weeks, members and visitors are urged to be mindful of their surroundings.

Please reference the below map to familiarise yourself with what areas will be impacted. Please be aware that the thoroughfare between the Stables and the Indoor Arena Warm-Up will be cordoned off while works are in progress.

This means that the Classrooms and surrounding areas will not be accessible from the left-hand side road turn off from Loop Rd (the side road accessed from the main carpark).

To access the Classrooms and surrounding areas, you will have to make your way to the Limestone Car Park located at the back of the SEC. From there, you can walk through the Stables area to access the Classroom and any other areas.

Alternatively, and if the situation permits, we encourage you to park at the SEC front car park and walk around the left-hand side of the Bond-Connell Pavilion to access the aforementioned areas.

In another key point to note, access to the C-Quest Arena, C-Quest Warm Up Arena and Round Yards is also blocked until further notice due to the movement of equipment and machinery.

The upgrade works are expected to continue until mid-February.

Equestrian WA apologises for any inconvenience caused but emphasises that the works are part of our continued commitment to provide the best possible SEC experience for our members and the equestrian community.

Equestrian WA will provide updates as the refurbishments progress and further clarity around a specific re-opening date.
