Healthcare of the broodmare is essential for successful breeding and development of her foal. In this seminar, Dr Rachel Stone will explain health care management of broodmares, from the ground up. This will cover topics including feet, teeth, medications and management, from serving right through gestation, to foaling. Michelle Meylan will then cover nutritional needs of the broodmare.

Rachel graduated in Veterinary Science from Massey University NZ in 1986. She has further qualifications in Equine Stud Medicine from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and is a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Equine Dentistry. She has many years experience in equine practice in NZ, UK, Malaysia and Perth. Rachel now specialises in Equine Dentistry, providing mobile services and teaching equine dentistry at Murdoch University. She also provides veterinary and regulatory services at Ascot and Belmont racecourses.
