Equestrian WA welcomes Zac Acott as Chief Executive Officer
The Equestrian WA Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Zac Acott as Chief Executive Officer, commencing in October 2026.
Many of our members will know Zac from his previous tenure as CEO of Equestrian WA (EWA), where he worked closely with the Board, staff, clubs, disciplines and stakeholders to strengthen the organisation and support the growth of equestrian sport across Western Australia.
Since leaving EWA, Zac has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Eastern Suns Basketball Association, further building his leadership experience within the sporting sector. He returns to EWA with valuable new experience, a strong understanding of the organisation and a genuine passion for equestrian sport, positioning him well to lead EWA into its next chapter.
The appointment comes at an important time for EWA. The Board acknowledges that the organisation has experienced significant leadership turnover over the past 18 months and recognises the impact this has had on members, staff, volunteers and stakeholders.
The Board also acknowledges the dedication of EWA staff and the wider equestrian community, whose ongoing commitment has ensured the organisation has continued to support the sport throughout this period of change.
With Zac returning as CEO, the recent appointment of two new Board Directors and a renewed strategic focus, EWA is well positioned to rebuild confidence, strengthen relationships across the equestrian community and deliver meaningful outcomes for members.
Board Chair Anne Wilkins said the appointment represents a turning point for EWA.
"This appointment reflects the Board's commitment to providing stable leadership and a clear direction for the organisation. We are confident Zac's experience and understanding of EWA will help strengthen our organisation and rebuild confidence across the equestrian community."
Zac will commence with EWA in October 2026. Between now and his commencement, the Board will continue to focus on supporting the organisation and ensuring a smooth transition.
Please join the Board in welcoming Zac back to EWA.
