Equestrian WA is Seeking a Visionary Board Director with Commercial Expertise

Equestrian Western Australia (EWA) is inviting expressions of interest from experienced professionals to join its Board of Directors, with the organisation seeking a dynamic and visionary individual with strong commercial expertise.

As the State Sporting Organisation for equestrian sport in Western Australia, EWA plays a vital role in the development, promotion and governance of the sport across the state. The organisation also manages the State Equestrian Centre in the Swan Valley, a 72-hectare facility that serves as a key hub for equestrian events, training and community engagement.

This voluntary Board Director position presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic leadership of the organisation and help shape the future of equestrian sport in Western Australia.

Contributing to the Strategic Direction of Equestrian WA

The successful candidate will work alongside fellow Board members to provide governance, strategic oversight and commercial insight to support the continued growth and sustainability of Equestrian WA.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing strategic guidance to enhance organisational performance

  • Leveraging commercial experience to identify new revenue opportunities and partnerships

  • Collaborating with the Board to develop and implement long-term strategic plans

  • Supporting a culture of integrity, accountability and strong governance

EWA is particularly interested in candidates with senior commercial leadership experience, strong financial acumen and an understanding of governance frameworks. A passion for sport and community engagement will also be highly valued.

Role Requirements

The Board Director position is voluntary and includes participation in:

  • Monthly Board meetings (held either in person or online)

  • Key stakeholder engagements and major events, such as the Equestrian WA Awards Night
