COVID-19 UPDATE: A MESSAGE FROM EQUESTRIAN WA CEO Mr. Dwight Pedlow

Equestrian WA and our extended equestrian family of Members and Clubs are facing uncertain times with the current COVID-19 pandemic, like everyone in the community we are making decision daily on how to protect ourselves best while we plan for the future.

In the interest of supporting health service recommendations, all EWA events and events run under EA Rules will be cancelled or postponed from Monday 23rd March for 4 weeks.

All EWA Eventing competitions will be cancelled or postponed until the end of May, and this includes Capel, WAYER, Murray, Harvey, Wooroloo 1 and Brigadoon 1 ODEs.

All events at the State Equestrian Centre are cancelled or postponed from Monday 23rd March for 4 weeks.

These measures will help to ensure that social distancing measures can be secured in our sport for the protection of all. We understand that these events will be sorely missed and many organising committees have already invested time and resources into the organisation of the events.

EWA’s immediate focus is on the next four weeks and we will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed. EWA has been in regular contact with our representative at the Department of Sport (DLGSC), and we are encouraged that support for State Sporting Associations (SSA) such as EWA is in the planning phase, this will be essential as we work to restart the sport in the future.

Dwight Pedlow
Chief Executive Officer, Equestrian WA
