Alison Rowland on Yalambi’s Carpino Z wins CSI2*-W Sydney during the Royal Easter Show

For the first time, the Grand Prix at the Sydney Royal was rated as a FEI World Cup 2 star event. A first in Sydney that could not be overlooked!

The Sydney Easter Show in Olympic Park was a perfect backdrop to gather families and insiders to enjoy the sport in the main arena. The event was originally scheduled for Tuesday afternoon however was postponed to Wednesday morning due to weather. This delay enabled the grass footing to dry which provided perfect conditions for the horses and riders.

West Australian Alison Rowland jumped two super clear rounds riding her 10 year old stallion, Yalambi’s Carpino Z, to win the opening World Cup qualifier of the 2015 season. She incurred a single time fault on her second round.

In the first round there were 3 clear rounds: Sam Buchanan & Diamond B Vixen (74.78), Vicki Roycroft & Congo Z (75.31) and Alison Rowland & Yalambi's Carpino Z (79.42)

The second round started with the top 12 riders and spectators had to wait for the last rider Samuel Buchanan to jump the last fence for the final results! He was victim of just one fault and time penalty after a clear round in the first part.

Eventually, second place was filled by the talented Queenslander Billy Raymont on Stardom and third place went to Jess Brown on the imported Holsteiner gelding Casco, both with a two round total of just one fault.

The final results were:

1st Alison Rowland, Yalambi's Carpino Z
2nd Billy Raymont, Stardom
3rd Jessica Brown, Casco
4th Samuel Buchanan, Diamond B Vixen
5th Thomas Mc Dermott, Airtime Z GHP
