Volunteer

Equestrian Western Australia is extremely fortunate to have the support of countless volunteers who support clubs and events around Western Australia.

Event volunteering is a great way to meet sporting enthusiasts and equestrian athletes. Equestrian event volunteers have the opportunity to learn about the sport by listening to judges’ comments, understanding how judging and timing works, as well as assist with understanding with the rules. If you are new to equestrian sports becoming an event volunteer is a great way to be introduced to events without the pressure of competing. Many volunteer roles are a great pathway to be becoming an official in equestrian sport with opportunities to course build, time and write for different officials.

Event volunteering hours can count towards community service, reference letters and are great for developing skills in logistics, organisation, sponsorship and marketing. Some volunteers are also eligible to money in honorarium for donating their time to the event. Shifts involving long hours also offer refreshments.

EWA is passionate about celebrating volunteers who assist with the running of equestrian sport and appreciate the countless hours that are required to ensure its success.
