EWA Para High Performance Squad | Building Better Performance On & Off the Horse
What a weekend 11–12 July was for our EWA Para High Performance Squad!
Saturday at Foxwood Farm, riders worked through individual training sessions focused on skill, feel and consistency — with two riders enjoying positive early sessions on their new horses.
Sunday took us to Carine RDA, where 8 riders trained on the horse simulator "Liquorice" alongside physiotherapist Ellen Cowcill from Every Stride Physiotherapy and coach Sharon Jarvis OAM PLY.
The simulator lets us analyse rider position, symmetry, balance and coordination in a controlled environment, with real-time feedback and objective data riders can carry straight back to the saddle. An exciting collaboration we're looking forward to growing.
By combining on-horse coaching with evidence-based off-horse training, our athletes are building the physical skills, body awareness and performance habits to progress along the Equestrian Australia Athlete Development Framework.
Huge thanks to Foxwood Farm for hosting, Carine RDA for the simulator access, and to all our riders and support teams for their enthusiasm and commitment. Bring on the next High Performance clinic!
