15–18 April 2026 | State Equestrian Centre

Equestrian Western Australia (EWA) is proud to announce that the 2026 Interschool State Championships will take place from Wednesday 15 April to Saturday 18 April 2026 at the State Equestrian Centre (SEC).

The EWA State Interschools Championships provide school-aged riders with an opportunity to represent their schools in an equestrian sport that is not offered within the formal education system. For many students, this event is a major highlight of their sporting year and an important stepping stone, with riders eligible for pre-selection to the National Interschool Championships later in the year.

A Festival of Interschool Equestrian Sport

Held over four days, the Championships create a festival-style atmosphere at the State Equestrian Centre. With the majority of competitors and their families camping onsite, the SEC becomes a vibrant hub of activity of horses, school teams, supporters, food, sponsors, and shared experiences from early morning through to evening.

The event is renowned for its strong sense of community. Entire families attend, with parents, siblings, grandparents, and friends all playing a part in supporting riders. It’s not just a competition, it’s a celebration of school sport, horsemanship, and community.

Celebrating Achievement

In addition to the competition, EWA hosts a dedicated Interschools Awards Night, held separately from the event. This special evening allows riders to be recognised in front of their families, friends, and school communities, celebrating both sporting achievement and personal growth.  In 2026, the Awards night will be held at the State Equestrian Centre on 27 June 2026.

The Interschool State Championships are a memorable experience for riders and families, combining high-quality competitions with fun and friendships.

14 April (Tue): Opening Ceremony and Welcome Dinner
15 April (Wed): Jumping Phase 1; Combined Training Dressage; Dressage Advanced FEI.
16 April (Thu): Jumping Phase 2; Combined Training Jumping; Dressage (Prep, Novice, Medium). 
17 April (Fri): Jumping Phase 3; Show Horse All Classes; Dressage (Preliminary, Elementary) 
27 June (Sat): Interschools Awards Night, State Equestrian Centre
