Coaches required for WA National Interschool Team

EWA is calling for Expressions of Interest from accredited EA NCAS (preferably Level 2) Coaches to accompany 53 WA State Team members and their families to the 2016 National Interschool Equestrian Championships. The event will take place at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre in NSW from Tuesday 26 September to Friday 30 September.

Roles and Responsibilities of Coaches to include:

  • Work closely alongside the Team Manager ensuring safety, preparation and warm up of competitors from 8am – 4pm daily at the event
  • Provide strategic and practical skills training to guide individual rider skills and strengths toward achieving personal goals
  • Encourage full participation by each team member and encourage team cohesion
  • Encourage positive communication between all Team members and Event officials

Applicant Requirements:

  • Be willing to be supportive of team decisions and to maintain confidentiality
  • Show willingness to comply with EA and EWA Policies and Codes of Conduct
  • Be able to follow team management directives  /   Follow the directive of and reports regularly to the State Team Manager
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check
  • Be empathetic with a kind disposition
  • Be able to endure late nights and early mornings while away with the team
  • Be willing to work hard as a personnel member
  • Display an enthusiastic attitude and embraces the Spirit of State Team
  • Display good communication and people skills
  • Be willing to travel and stay with the team while at the National Championships
  • Be willing to purchase and wear the official team uniform

Remuneration:

A package will be negotiated to include related travel, accommodation and out of pocket expenses for the duration of the event. Alternatively, if travel and accommodation are not required (eg. for a local NSW Coach), then a daily rate can be negotiated.
