Vale Dan Johnson

The Eventing world is greatly saddened this week by the passing of Dan Johnson. Dan was truly one of nature's gentlemen, and as the husband of Phoebe and the father of Sonja and Charles, was a familiar and friendly fixture at almost every Eventing competition throughout WA.

Dan was the Official Starter for Eventing for many years, and his quiet, efficient manner, often with a quiet encouraging word to a nervous rider in the start box, was an integral part of our events.

Dan's support for “Team Johnson” is legendary. He travelled with Phoebe around the world to support his daughter and was always her No 1 fan.

Eventing WA, on behalf of all the members and competitors of Eventing offer Phoebe, Sonja, Charles and family our most sincere condolences. He will be greatly missed by everyone who enjoyed his quiet humour, a friendly chat, and his ever positive presence to witness Sonja’s many successes.
